Morning all, It's a grey mild day here at present but I don't hold much hope of it staying that way.

Morning all - still grey and cool here, not much chance of the sun I fear.
All this talk, and photos of, beef stew & dumplings etc. is making my mouth water - and it's only 10.30.
Us poor OAPs up 'ere in Yorkshire have to make do with a bowl of gruel and a couple of mouldy crusts every other day

LOL You're right! Jeff's stew & dumplings look very nice Tis that time o year for such meals. I've got some puff pastry in the fridge & I was going to make some corned beef pasties & potato & leek but the kitchen is still a bomb site after the flood, The Insurance guy is supposed to be coming AGAIN tomorrow, as I've a fair few of those that need lifting, They never really fattened up for some reason but they taste bootiful.

Steady rain here now so it's going to be a couch potato day.

Talk about rains but never pours! Mam fell this morning & it looks like she's broken her hip, None of us could go to the hospital with her in the ambulance & we forgot to give them a nightie & her toiletries bag We cant go to see her because of C-19 restrictions in this Bolton area.

Hope Mum recovers from her ordeal soon,I had similar episode last month,my brother collapsed with sepsis and you had to make an appointment 24 hours in advance to visit, they also put him in a covid ward so I ended up not being able to visit at all, good job he was only in there for a week.

I asked why he was on a covid ward and they said it was the only spare beds they had,he tested negative thankfully, but they still kept him on the isolation ward until he was fit to go home.

- aaah - the Throwers of Ludham - unlike my lot up 'ere who are known as the Luddites of North Yorkshire

The missus has just accidentally mixed twice the required amount of milk & brandy (50/50) for another Christmas cake. I feel a nice warm cup of coffee coming on

Hope your Mum gets better soon. Must be a very worrying time for you at the moment Ian.
