Glasgow & West of Scotland
and other parts of the UK too
As of this weekend I have taken on the role of Regional Secretary for the West & South of Scotland. Now that many of the COVID restrictions have been lifted I am hoping to get some regular meets established for 2022 along with some planned runs. I know that we have a number of members of the club who no longer have a 75 or ZT so let it be said now that whilst a 75 or ZT is preferred, you are welcome along with any car - it will be good to see you. I have set up a poll so that I can get an idea of where people are, please can you complete it as appropriate. Also if you have any suggestions for possible meets or runs, post them up below |

Stornoway, Simon.
From Glasgow let's call it 3 hours on Ferry the then a 'brisk' 4 hour non-stop drive. Often a bit slower with the wife in the passenger seat ZT currently up on stands receiving some love, TF doing daily duty. |

Yes indeed Simon.
We can travel either Stornoway to Ullapool, then through Inverness and down the A9. There's also Tarbert in Harris across to Uig on Skye, then drive across Skye and down the West coast through Fort William and on to Rannoch Moor. This is a prettier drive, but a longer trip in total. In passing, I was in Glasgow about a month ago. Four day trip altogether. I like to keep an eye out for MGR cars as I travel up and down the A9. I saw two 75s and a single ZR. Getting thin on the ground now sadly. |

Definitely getting thin on the ground. I drove down and back to the NEC ( in a Toyota) and only saw one 75. Bizarrely they parked a couple of spaces up from me at Tebay services. A lovely chap from ......... 20 miles from where I live
I would love to arrange a couple of road trips over a weekend next year. Inverness and up through Ullapool could be tempting |

A9 up to Inverness is actually a good drive for folk who don't know it. I've probably just done it to often. Been making the trip maybe 4 or 5 times a year since 1992. There are some lovely stretches, and come late September early October the autumn colours from Perth onwards are glorious.
Inverness to Ullapool is a good laugh, especially the last 30 miles. If you catch it quiet there are some fabulous sweeping bends where you can stretch the car. Watch out for deer in the winter, mind. Late April into may is a good time to come North. The last three years straight we've had extended periods of glorious weather in Spring. A couple of times this year I forgot to put the roof up on the TF overnight and got away with it. Unheard of! June/ July there are too many camper vans (where did all the caravans go?) and too many midges when you stop. |

I’m up the A82 in Fort William. I seem to be seeing quite a few 75’s dotting about these last few weeks and a couple of ZT’s but unfortunately most looks fairly tired and run down ….much like myself tbh lol

It's been a while since I was in Fort William, last September I think - albeit I was in the TF
