But Steve, do you really need a mobile phone? We are on pay-as-you-go because of the international travel and the phone I have is dual sim which means it has 2 numbers, a feature I find useful.

I've got two old mobiles, one won't charge presumably because its sat in a drawer for so long (years!), the other (actually a dual SIM) has sat just as long but it does charge . . . . doesn't work though. Switches on etc but won't even send a text despite saying its connected to everything

I don't use a mobile a lot, mainly used to keep in touch with Ging when she's off on the wander visiting friends.

Afternoon all, It finally stopped raining a few hours ago so as I had to hoover up a split bag of rice that spilled into the boot I thought I might as snowfoam it while I'm at it.

I could just murder that breakfast I made some vegetable soup & we're having some salmon fillets with one of those dry packets of cheesy/broccoli pasta with peas for tea.

Dried up long enough to nip out to the shops and fill the bird feeders earlier before it started chucking it down again.

Ging has gone and got me a phone on her contract, an iPhone 11 . . . . means nowt to me, don't know whether to cheer or mutter under my breath

Morning all, morning Steve,

That is great news that Ging has got you an iPhone 11 on her contract. It’s a nice phone with a very capable camera on board. How really very kind of Ging to reach out and help you in that way.

Do try and enjoy the phone when it arrives. With your old phones you no longer use, why not clear their memories and put them into a phone recycling bank where you could get some money back.

Tonight we are in the premier inn M4 Swindon on our way back to Bristol, a cheap hotel for what it is. Will set off again later on, weather permitting.

What is everyone up to?

Good morning Phil and everyone.

Agree with what Phil has said Steve.
Everything will be much the same as your previous iPhone and if your new phone is set up on the same account even your Apps etc will still be in the same place.
The only real difference is the larger screen and the removal of the home button at the bottom.
That and a camera which should obsolete any point and shoot camera you are currently using.

I still have the iPhone 11 (might upgrade to the 14 at some point but in no hurry) myself and use it all the time when not wanting to get the big boy out
All the food photos I put on here are shot with it, as are most of my boat photos and videos. It really is good.
So if nothing else, don't worry about it's other tricks and treat it as camera with a phone attached to it

I'm working in Braintree this morning Phil. Hoping that it will remain dry for the photoshoot!

Just to give you an idea of how good the iPhone 11's camera is.

This was taken using the iPhone 11...

And this was taken using my Canon EOS 1DX which when new cost around £5,000...

Both shots taken on the same morning.

Cool

Morning everyone from soggy Cornwall.

We have certainly had some rain down.

Got Bananas battery on charge as we are taking her to the garage this afternoon.
