This stupid moron was putting other peoples life at risk. He should go to jail for not going to a race track.

That's the trouble with Britsh Law (in my opinion)... some offences are that are dangerous get you a slap on the wrist whilst others get you slammed up for something seemingly silly.

Take this case: If you go to Downing Street without a pass and try to gain access then you be arrested on the spot and charged under the Terrorism Act. This could lend you a jail sentence of a few months at the very least.

Silly if you ask me when a person can drive a tonne of metal at over 170mph and only get a "good telling off"

Rant over...

Not if you or I did it!
But then if I was a teenager now, I wouldn't be worried about the law.. H&S rules mean the police might not chase me ('cos I might crash trying to get away!), if they did catch me I wouldn't be put in jail 'cos
1) no-one died and
2) the jails are full....
I keep reading about drivers being fined £200-£400 for driving whilst uninsured (not to mention without T&T), the AA reckon the average insurance premium is £477... what kind of punishment is that??
Apparently our premiums would all fall by £30 if all cars were insured.
I have to insure 3 cars at a cost of about £1400....

172mph x 1.6 = 275kph

His particular Porsche doesn't appear to have an electronically limited top speed.

There is no question those speeds are foolish on that sort of road, but I do understand why he did it. He just needs to find a safe place to do it.

The spec top speed of my 2.5KV6 manual rover 75 is 220 kph - & no... I haven't gone that fast.

You might want to research your argument more thoroughly rather than relying on good old 'tabloid sensationalism'.

Or, alternatively, rather than sitting there denigrating the efforts of the Police and the Judiciary, put some effort into getting it changed.
