Opening the headlights
Has anyone opened up the headlights to clean the inside, projector lens etc?
Did it make a noticable difference?

Do not touch the chromed section. It is apparently easily damaged. Not done it on our lights, but on a smashed headlight from another car, and if I recall the how to, it states similar.

I opened mine up to convert them to Dipping HID, I used the oven in the house to warm them up, I placed the headlight on a piece of wood so it didnt melt on the oven trays and once heated it came apart fairly easily with some wide screwdrivers and some pulling.
I set the oven as low as it would go and they were in there for about 20 mins. Agreed on the above on how easy it is to damage the silver, it will come off with little more than the fricton of your finger, even a piece of kitchen towel will scratch the silver. Luckily I had a spare set of headlights to practice on. |

Thanks for your replies. I had read those posts on how to, I was just wondering if anyone that had done it noticed any improvement. Was it worth the effort?
One issue I have with mine is that the plastic covers look to have lots of tiny cracks in them which I'm guessing can't be too good for the light beam. I'm actually 50/50 if I should just order a pair of new ones, but they are quite pricey.
