I think I have the Dreaded 1.8 petrol in tank filter issue 2003 model 75
I was searching for the how to pdf ... or a link
I am trying to not let a 2003 1.8 die .... symptom = Turns over will not start - RAC say compression - car new to me from person done by a garage who sold it to a Gent and it only drove for 1 day.. Clues for me - back seat was loose and sound proofing disturbed so looked at before on both sides of plastic tank - on reading forums this is the number one supect. my main worry now is (after battery disconnected and removed) : 1. In order to see if the filter has separated - do i have to take the petrol pipe off the top of the filter and will it gush out when i do 2. if I get a gusher where should I siphon from until I do not 3. I was going to get the Rimmer bros seals and a white clipe from Ebay |
