I'd been working on something pre-covid as a simple solution using oem struts and much smaller springs that I was getting sized. I must try it again now this has become a popular discussion again.

Auto boot opening.
Nice to see you have achieved it. I tried this several years past. However I just could not manage to obtain the correct springs So I settled for short springs which allow it to open 2". After my interior boot latch and key locking system failed a few time I made my own key fob automatic boot release opener along with an emergency back-up pull cable located under the back seat from a Mazda MX5.
