I know Andy, it's crazy isn't it, I actually forget I even own Capri because it's been so long.

Hi fellas, so the 1979 Cosmos blue Capri is still not finished, long story short, there's a long snag-list to rectify...
Meanwhile, I was lucky enough to pic up this little beauty, she's another 1.6L in original unmolested condition, been garaged for the past 20 years and recommissioned just 3 years ago. Best condition Capri I have seen for a very long time.. |

Hi Wes what a stunner of a Capri that is, Bootiful. Hope you're doing well Sir.

She is certainly a stunner, been very well looked after, I was lucky to find such a beauty. The previous owner wasn't even selling, he was only thinking about it, and best of all he lives 10 minutes from me, so it was right on my doorstep; what are the chances of that? She drives like a new car, like she just came from the factory, not bad for 41 years old, she only has 60k miles on the clock, meant to be original with receipts and old MOT papers to back it up. The old gentleman kept a journal and wrote everything down what he had done to it, such a timeless classic piece of history. It's even got the original parcel shelf in pristine condition, uncut and not warped, this alone is worth £500 all day long, amazing really... There's something about a red car that I simply love, I said I would never buy another red car after the ZT, the laser and the Cortina, as it's so difficult to look after red paint; but here I am again with a red/terracotta brown Capri. I am hoping the pigment in terracotta isn't the same, and that it doesn't fade. |

Hi fellas
An update on the 79 Capri, I finally got her back February of this year (over a year late). It has been 16 months of countless promises and repeated failed completion dates, and to make matters worse they've done a terrible job. The work has been done to such a poor standard it's laughable, to say I am upset is an understatement. It's mind boggling how someone can call themselves a classic car restorer and churn-out such a poor standard of work is beyond me, they've actually made the car dangerous to drive, and I've had to get an independent classic car inspection done to sort this mess out. Be careful who you trust with your classic car fellas. |

Good Grief! That sounds terrible Wes. All that time they've had it & it's been returned substandard, I'm with you Wes I'd be absolutely livid.
