Wakefield Miners Museum
I am looking at organising a visit possibly Friday 7 June (avoiding weekends)
Date can be changed for more interest. I need to gauge interest in this venue to be able to pre book us in for tours. Some tours are only available on weekends. Please visit their website for more info. Let me know guys and I can get on it. Cheers Mick Mick Springfield Boater Last edited by Mick Brownhill; 9th March 2024 at 10:23.. Reason: update |

Further to last post, I can arrange this for a Saturday 8th. More happening then but I have to book in numbers for any tours. Please look at their website and guide me as to what you want.

i would definitely want the underground tour and would support any extras that others may like to do.
I did the underground tour many years ago and really enjoyed it. The ex miners that act as guides are really entertaining. |

Miners Museum
Hi
In order for me to do a group booking There needs to be 8 people. Otherwise we do tours singularly with the public. I have had a good response from our invited guests at the Lincolnshire Rover Club. Cheers Mick |

Guys
The date is now fixed for Saturday 8th June. As there are no firm numbers to allow for a group booking tours will be booked as individuals who wish to go underground and members can do this via their website. Any issues please let me know. Cheers Mick |

So Where was Everybody??
I am not surprised that Mick is frustrated by the lack of support for meetings.
I went to the Mining Museum this morning with Jack, my neighbour and was hoping to meet up with other club members. Not one other Rover or MG came along. It is a very worthwhile place to visit - we did the underground tour and had lunch in the cafe. The weather played ball and the sun shone all the time we were there. Our guide on the underground tour (an ex miner) gave us so much information about life underground and in a humorous and entertaining way. All in all an excellent experience and a very good day out. Mick goes to a lot of trouble to organise these things and we should give him our support. Howard |
