Default Windows 7 --- I like it, BUT.......

Most of windows 7 I like, but it won't do things that XP could do. How do I look for a specific sentence within all the docs on C drive? It could be in any of 250 folders, within countless documents. OR ..how do I ask 7 to search all the computer for movie files. In XP i would ask it to search for *.mov. I do not want to search folders individually, I want to search all of my C drive at one go. Am I missing out on a simple fix here?

Have you got Indexing set up properly? Search works well on my Windows 7 installation. For instance it can find all JPEGs (using *.jpg in Start/Search, or CTRL+F then *.jpg in Windows Explorer ) - or it can find any particular JPEG (by typing in the file name).

Links at foot of this page might help http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...ndows-7-a.html

OK, Linux is the dogs.
How many of my 50+ Windows programmes work under Linux?
