Best Laptop for £500

My HP laptop has given up the ghost (motherboard) so am in the market for a new one, does anyone have any recommendations for a good laptop for £500 or under, must be fairly powerful.

For work, over the last few years I have ordered mainly Dell Vostro's we have approx 15 Laptops all various models and only had one ever go back with a faulty HD.

They are about £400 + Vat and Shipping, but if you time it right, then you can often get free shipping and double memory offers.

Well worth a look in my opinion.
