Prom Concert and Air Fair

Those of you who live around the Bury St. Edmunds area may be interested in the Thurston Prom on the evening of Saturday 7th July and the Thurston Air Fair on Sunday 8th July.

Both events are run by 863 (Thurston) Squadron ATC and are our main fundraising event of the year. Last year we had about 3000 people at the Prom and another 1500 at the Air Fair.

Both enjoyable and suitable for all ages.

The Prom this year features "Music of The Skies" and the traditional "Last Night of The Proms" and Fireworks Finale, and displays by the Squadron Band and Squadron Rifle Display Team.

The Air Fair has numerous flying and aerobatic displays including an RAF flypast and the Air Sea Rescue helicopter. There will also be a parachute display along with a variety of Arena Events and Displays - Carriage Gun Race (based on the one the Navy used to do at The Royal Tournament), and the Squadron Band and Squadron Rifle Display Team.

Both events will have a Bar, BBQ and Tea Tent.
