Production / Sales numbers ?
Hello everybody,
As a loving new ZT owner, I was wondering how many were produced. I knew MK2 190 ZT were rare, particulary in LHD but do you know where I could find the real numbers ? (sorry for my bad english) |

Hi,
I see you are in Paris like me so you may be interested in the French registration figures. These are listed in the book by Adrien Cahuzac, MG: les sportives so British (ETAI, 2011). This lists 141 ZT 190 saloons and 54 ZT-T 190 estates sold new in France. And just seven ZT 260 saloons like mine! Julian. |

Lots of Google references to MGR production data. This one gives a good idea. There were around 27,000 ZTs produced apparently.

I made a rough calculation and of the about 27000 made in total 10400 should be MK I ZT, 7600 MK I ZTT,5200 MK II ZT and 3800 MK II ZTT.
These are very small numbers and any facelift version in LHD very rare indeed. The ratio of Tourers vs. Saloons is much higher in MG than in Rover. Luciano |

Went on " How many left.co.uk" The site tells you the number of vehicles
still registered or SORN with the DVLA. Only 85 ZTT Cdti's and only 9 ZTT Cdti automatics Surely that can't be correct? |

It depends how they are registered - i.e. ZT-T, ZT-T+ ZT-T CDTi, ZT-T 135 etcetcetc.
The DVLA data is really badly written unfortunately.... loads of "mismatched" cars. The most common car in the table is "UNKNOWN" of which there are over 27k (!) examples. |
