Default Front Numberplate Removal

Hi Chaps, might sound like a dumb question but my front plate on my facelift is held on by 2 white plastic bolts and I need to remove it as the car is being re-registered on Saturday. My question is, are there likely to be 2 plastic nuts behind or do they screw into a body captive of some sort. If there are plastic nuts behind, can I get to them without all the hassle of taking the front bumper off. I thought that if there were, maybe I could get my hand in by lifting up the undertray after undoing it where it meets the bumper. I could use adhesive strips but because the plate hangs down below some of the bumper, air pressure my force it off. I hope someone can advise please.
