gram negative Pseudomonas are responsible for the rotten egg smell. Do not get any on any cuts or open wounds, can lead to fatal blood poisoning.

Most definitely. I hate blackened eggs in a salad sandwich.

Or it could just put hairs on your chest I suppose.

On a serious I only know about these nasty bacteria as they crop up in Nishikigoi ponds from time to time if the water filters are not kept clean.
