Replaced the front pads (Bendix), they had 3mm remaining with even wear.
As per normal with these, and the discs were replaced along with the pads last ( TRW discs, not Wanjitown Siming Mountain "OEM" spec) the outboard swept area of the disc was pristine, and the inboard side had a 3/8" ring of crust at the outer diameter of the disc. The discs were removed, a chipping hammer used to knock of the crust, after which they were lightly machined to attain a decent surface, and refitted to the car, the runout checked, and finally built back up. Annoyingly, I had bought two sets of Bendix pads when I bought the discs four years back, and when I opened up the box containing the new pads, I found that they contained a different brand The original Bendix pads had an antisqueal coating on the back side, whereas the new ones did not . Time will tell, I'll bed them in tomorrow and see how they perform........ho hum. Brian |

Just a tiny job for me. Fitted a replacement eyebrow as we discovered at the last Nano mine was held in with one screw and that fixing was hanging off!

I guess that was not yours, but how the heck can you drive round like that and not know something is wrong?

Its not doing the job twice that's annoying Bri, its jacking it up, removing the wheel, getting the tools out etc.

the pads I fitted were marked as Mintex despite being boxed in Bendix packaging.
I've fitted Mintex before, but these are coming off as soon as the Unipart ones arrive, and unceremoniously filed under B1N. I suspect as to what has happened in the past, bearing in mind both boxes of pads were bought from the same seller, both Bendix, one set fitted years ago and the other kept in stock for "the next time" Well the next time arrived, and once opened, it was fairly plain to see the pads differed in quality, in as much as the Bendix pads had a coating on the metal backing, and the Mintex ones did not. Not withstanding, I fitted them, and the result is under light pedal pressure, horrendous brake squeal. I've ordered some new old stock GBD342AF, as unlike the "Mintex" pads, these are unlikely to be absolute rubbish. Brian |

Bright... lol ... Dipped is much better and high beam is very good Might just notch up the offside dipped a little but they seem pretty much on aim otherwise
