Well, using my mate's lift made the oil change a lot easier, I supplied the oil and filter but my mate did most of the work, wouldn't take a penny for it either.

Thanks folks.
Just got back, I think it went ok, fingers crossed
Got a comment on how nice my ZTT looked, which was good seeing as the job is for a yard man at a John Deere dealership and one of the main duties will be preparing the traded in tractors and machinery ready for selling on

It never rains but it pours eh! well judging by tomorrows weather forecast it's going to bucket down.
I've Just been to town to drop the missus off & the red battery light comes on on the dash, I take the car back home & put the meter on on it & it's barely showing 9 volts going in

I rang the auto electricians/alternator rebuild people in Bolton I've been using for donkeys years & he says I've got one of those in stock already rebuilt, £60 just bring us your old unit in to exchange. judging by the prices I've seen online that's a BARGAIN. he's rebuild every American 50/60's car alternators I've taken to him & a dozen old English classics too & never had a single problem. looks like I'll be on the spanners taking it off when I've been for my haircut.

Bit grey but reasonably warm here. Going to nip down to the 260 and reset the service indicator . . . . or at least see if the BMW software works with the 260, never tried it before.
