Good morning Derek, I thought I was in for a feet up kind of day, but the hoover needed striping & cleaning out badly

I decided to get the carpet shampooer out of the garage & give the living carpet a good clean whilst I'm at it.

It's embarrassing the muck that comes out.

Luckily he was ok and not hurt, but just hasn't any strength to push himself back up again. When I got there I had to enlist the help,of the neighbour to lift him back in to the chair. I think he had just tripped on a bit of uneven carpet.

So easy done.Sandra was trying on a new pair of boots caught her foot in the carpet and down she went had to call ambulance because I coulkd not lift her of the floor. They used a blow up cushion that could lift her to a stand up postiion.

Filthy here - North Easterly breeze coming in from the Arctic - persistent heavy showers, including hail, and cold enough to freeze the thingies off a brass wotsit

I've had a wasted day - set out to mount a new cabinet in the bathroom, - meticulously measured up the fixing holes (twice, just to be sure), went into the garage for the hollow wall fixings (plasterboard wall) and decided to check one before putting it in the wall - and the flamin' setting tool fell apart. Options - £17.50 in Screwfix for another tool, or wait 'til Monday and borrow the plumber's from down the road. Needless to say. I took the cheaper option

Evenin' all, It's been eerily quiet this afternoon, must be the lull before the fireworks storm tonight.
There's still a strong north wind blowing, it's proper perishing so I've got a casserole on the go with dumplings.
I bought a thick cut large wholemeal bloomer loaf yesterday from Aldi & it's really good. It'll go down well moping up the casserole.
