What a silly day yesterday turned out to be
Had a power cut around 1.15pm just as I was heating my oxtail soup. Must have been a fairly major outage, as the mobile 'phone signal went down too (mast is about a mile away) and of course, every burglar alarm in Christendom went berserk. When eventually power was restored, there were all sorts of anomalies - sister's telephone landline down the road NOT working - but mine was; no internet; all the catch-up programmes on my Virgin box disappeared.
This went on for ages - although I eventually got my broadband back early evening - at a speed of 0.14 mbps - which I think is slower than what I used to get from dial-up
Eventually, I gave up in disgust - it was taking about 10 minutes to load up the Club's front page on my laptop. Got up this morning, intending to get on the 'phone to Virgin Media and tell 'em where to stick their service - and lo & behold, everything is hunky dory.

Thinking what to knock up for my tea tonight, mash, pork chops, Bob the Butchers award winning pork sausages and Aldis Coral baked beans are looking good at the moment. Caroline wont be home from work until about about half ten so Ill be cooking just for myself

Our daughter has just invited herself for tea (on the way home from work) so Angela is currently constructing (is that the right word ??) a homemade lasagne
We've just about finished putting the garden to sleep for the Winter - everything is trimmed back ready for new growth next Spring. Our apple tree has been very productive again this year - but they're a bit on the tart side to say the least. They are, in theory, eating apples, but I suspect Angela will cook 'em with a bit of added sugar and then put them in the freezer to be used in bramble & apple crumbles during the Winter.

Afternoon all, I won an ebay auction yesterday for another HP workstation PC same as the one I've got (£30 ridiculous ), It's cheaper to buy another machine than to buy extra Ram
Anywho it arrived this morning I only won it yesterday afternoon. it has a better processor than mine so I've married the two best parts of both machines & it run like a champ I've been loading my software/sites into it all afternoon.

Thanks Rod, the doc thinks the statins have affected the abnormal liver readings, so he has told Jessica to stop taking them. Today we had our first proper cooked meal in 2 weeks of white fish from the lake, mash, peas, sweet corn and avocado. We've been living off rice. So far, so good
