What an amazing thread. Came across it tonight (where have I been?) and have spent the last two hours reading all the posts from the start.

Awe inspiring. I wouldn't know where to start on something like this.

I now have the thread on my "favourites" bar and will look forward to reading the updates.

Well done John, I'm TOTALLY impressed.

Hi Bob, Thanks very much for your comments and interest in my thread. There's not much to post at the moment I'm afraid, I'm STILL waiting for the Connie donor to arrive (bought and paid for, just seems to have difficulty finding its way here!) and I'm desperately trying to find time to get up to see Corin to collect some parts he has put aside for me. I have ordered a 2 post lift to go in my garage at home, this will make installing the engine & box a doddle, just wish I'd thought about getting one when I was struggling my bits off putting the rear cradle in, and taking it out, and putting it in, and taking it out, you've read the thread, you know the story Once the ramp is installed I can seriously get on and finish all the underside. Keep watching mate, it may be all quiet at the moment but once these holdups are out of the way I'll be back on it, flat out again

Glad to see you're still about mate! Don't suppose your donor car is an oil squasher with an autobox is it?

All the best from Bavaria,

Jake

Hi John

How is the project going? Just a word of thanks. Before I left the UK I found an Autoboss V30 and had it hooked up to the 75. Followed your instructions and it worked a treat when you have time do let us know how you are doing.

Hi GK, glad to hear the V30 helped you out mate, this is an excellent piece of kit and has proved invaluable for me with my various array of MGR's, I know it doesn't do all of the things that the T4 does, but it is an excellent unit for the majority of systems found on the 75 and ZT. The project has been slow for a while but the Connie 75 I have been waiting for arrived last Saturday morning, by Saturday evening it was 95% stripped and had yielded 1 pair of powerfolds and door looms, complete interior with genuine walnut, walnut steering wheel and gearchange, all of the lovely PPD bits like torpedo badges, grab handle, rear ashtray, front cupholders etc etc etc. All of these parts are finding a new home in my Mk2 75 Contemporary which, as you are probably aware, is the correct interior for a ZT SE. On Sunday, (no school for me) I stripped the Contemporary interior out. I will give this a real good clean, hide feed it and it will then be ready to pop into 005. So, although it probably appears that 005 has come to a grinding halt, it hasn't really, it's just ticking over.

As a newbie, I've just stumbled across this thread and what a remarkable story!

I don't know many people with the patience or the perseverance to a complete a project like this, so I look forward to seeing the car/meeting you at a meeting, when it's finally on the road!
