Does this only happen outside your front door? Have you recently installed a cordless door chime?

If yes to both then it could be interference from the door bell. I fitted a new bell and every time I pressed the remote to lock the car the bell rang.

It's only a vague possibility.. but an easy fix if that's what it turns out to be. Think about any other IR transmitting devices that have just been bout too.
