Dunno
Went and studied back seat jammed release button issue. Three times. Made three mugs of tea instead. I understand mugs of tea.

I hired a ramp for a couple of hours at a garage in Waterlooville today to change an exhaust coupler clamp that had decide to give way allowing the exhaust to rest on a crossmember.
The banging was quite loud and I wasnt convinced it was this causing the problem. So it got changed and I managed to get the pipe to sit a little higher giving it about a 12mm clearance. A look round underneath and prying on different suspension parts didnt throw up an obvious answer. So off I go from the garage and the first bump I hit starts the banging again. Back home and the car sat on its wheels I grabbed hold of the right suspension arm and there was movement in the bush, one of the 2 bolts had come loose, I tightened it back up and took the car for a drive and ............all I can hear is that beautiful V8 soundtrack in all its glory. |

Got stranded for the first time. Finished my shift at the charity shop, key in, dash lights on, turned it over, and actually got quite a shock when it didn’t fire. Poking about under the bonnet didn’t reveal anything obvious, so looking around the forum it seems to either be a case of fuel filter syndrome or a failed cam sensor, neither of which I could fix with the tools/parts I had with me. In the end my father very kindly towed me to the garage and gave me a lift home.
Given that the youngest car I have ever owned was 17 when I bought it, I think I’ve done pretty well to go two-and-a-half years before being stranded somewhere! |

O2 Sensor
Engine warning light has come on and the V6 is running rough. Despite the very unappealing prospect of wrestling with a sensor that will obviously have been done up to a million NM and then welded in with rust, I decide to sacrifice my Saturday morning to the task. Imagine my enormous surprise when the old O2 sensor came undone easily and the whole job was done in under half hour (which included at least 5 minutes trying to get up off the ground - jeez I'm old).
Anyway, I was just about to do a quick lap of honour to celebrate my mechanical prowess when I noticed the weeping steering gaiter, the worn ball joint and (joy of joys) the patch of rust on the sill. Of course, when I prodded the rust patch it grew and grew - MOT due next month as well... |

Installed the rear facing camera and ran wiring through flexible carrier between boot lid and body. (Had previously installed and hardwired forward facing camera.) Can’t finish wiring until I’ve released the locked seat back, a task I’ve been avoiding. "Installed" club screen 'sticker', what a palaver!
