Checked all fluids and plenums, yesterday when I collected my daughter's car from garage I asked Andy to undo the coolant cap as it was too tight for me, usually check this weekly, needed over 1litre of coolant. He then tightened cap, checked it again today, needed over 1/2 litre and this was only to take it to slightly above min in expansion tank. Put a bottle of diesel magic in the tank and filled up at Tesco did just over 8 miles, checked coolant again spilling all over expansion tank, waited for it to cool down then tonight put 3/4 litre of coolant in and ordered a new cap from DMGRS. Diesel CDTi nothing under oil filler cap so hoping it's just a cap that's gone faulty.

Hi Martin.
If you are putting that amount of coolant into the car then you have a leak somewhere, also if it's spilling over the header tank you have to much in (no expansion) that 1/2 litre would have been nearly enough it only needs to be just above the max mark.

The cap needs to be tight otherwise it will spit out coolant.

Thanks Steve, cap was tight, filled to just slightly over max, both times, coolant spilling over expansion tank, no sign of leaks anywhere. Amount of coolant lost can only be the cap.

We don't get much snow where I live but M&S don't meet the regulations for winter driving here so snows it is. I have a set of Pirelli Ice Zero tyres and they probably handle better than my Conti summer tyres. I live mid-way up a steep hill so grip is important.
Modern snows aren't like the chunky old style snow tyres, they don't look much different than summers. I think the main differences are a compound that stays flexible in sub-zero temps and lots of sipes in the tread to help with grip.

Default Ready to go

Well the old blue one is now ready for departure.
Me and Lee have spent the best part of 2 days stripping bits out and I have to say the seats suit the silver car much better as well as the gold hairpins.
As for the replacement wheels......well less said the better.i thought mine were corroded!!!

All you need is probably two new rubber sealing rings on the cap. They flatten on the outside and then when under pressure they give way and leak. You only need the water up to midway on the fins in the bottom of the header tank.

LOL! That would be "Mud and Snow" tyres.
Marks and Sparks pulled out of Canada many years ago much to my late Mother's chagrin. She loved the place!

Watched the man from National Windscreens replace my windscreen, just avoiding the rain.
