Morning Phil and fellow early risers.
Off to Par Market today to stock up on my meat supply for the freezer. Then I’m off car hunting, need to get Banana a new sister. Not sure what I’m going for but I’ll know as soon as I see it. Good send off for Peter yesterday.

Who else did we speak to? Sheila and Katie - Peters family, Planenut, Nobby, Kwill, the Shiner Clan, Marina Brian, BRG75, Seablue, Rev Jules and Dawn. I don’t know how he is does it, still having a full head of hair and teeth, like yourself. I wonder what the secret is? There was a couple of tables with other members of the club gathered round, apologies for not getting to them or mentioning them here. Have a great day hunting for the sister of the Flying Banana. |

Morning all, Overcast & cooler today, It's the end of the month so I'll get the ladders out to read the elec/gas meters (old style ceiling height), Octopus energy are still miles off what we've used in a month, The cost is approaching 12 months worth of electric again for the month of July according to them, The readout on the tablet says £48 electricity usage the online dashboard says £1587 It's not like I could alter the meter readings, they've been like that forever so I keep a record of the meter readings at the end of each month.

Morning all.
Back home from the Silverstone Classic - great event and thoroughly enjoyed by my sons. Wasn't sure if they'd get the classic stuff but they discovered NOISE - the first cars they saw were 1980's DFV powered F1 cars. And then they discovered OVERTAKING - by Mini Cooper S's past Lotus Cortinas and Ford Mustangs through the bends. And finally they discovered what it's like to actually get close up and personal to cars in the paddock & pits including things like Jim Clark's Lotus 25, Prince Bira's Maserati 250F and (one of )Derek Bell's Le Mans winning Porsche's. Bell himself then drove her on a demonstration session for the Group C cars and he's just celebrated his 80th birthday. And one of the races was won by another octogenarian . The weather was kind and the camp site had all sorts of exotic stuff too - from a 1923 4 1/2 litre Bentley to an E type (who knew you could get a good sized tent in the back of one of those?) to genuine AC Cobra's and a Ferrari Testarossa. Only saw one 75, being used as a tow car but our "next door neighbour" had a lovey yellow MG ZS 180. . Sorry I didn't make Peter's funeral. Sounds like he had a good send off. Take care everyone. Just got back from the MOT station with Spotty the Sportage (pass with no advisories and a well done from the tester!), harvested a bagful of potatoes from a pot (started with one sprouter), so a good meal and a glass of red to celebrate tonight.

Nice one I harvested enough new potatoes to go with salmon fillets for tea tonight & baked a fresh loaf in the breadmaker.

Morning everyone.
The sun is shining. I put an advert on the local Community Page via Facebook, I had potted off about 20 strawberry plants plus some mint. And they have all been taken.

You've done better than me Bob, I've potted on eight strawberry runners from our three strawberry plants. Off to get some long term hormone implant/injection this morning at Bolton oncology suite.
