Cold tap is now in the off position . . . . well more or less, its just shy of the full 90°. If all else fails there's an stopcock* on the sink cold tap pipe that the machine feed comes off. Going to get some WD40 on the hot tap just in case that has to be connected to the new machine, might just give all the taps/cocks under the sink a scoosh, the ole preventative maintenance!
Ging is away to a birthday meal down in the Lakes, messaged her that the kitchen is cleared (table out etc) in preparation for tomorrow . . . . Ging's response was good, you can clean the floor *Just as well this isn't a plumber's forum, swear filter won't let you say stopcock as two separate words without going apoplectic . Going to have a hunt in the garage, the little red "aiming" tube off the WD40 in the shed has vanished. Might be one in the garage.

I found a few of those red WD40 tubes under the workbench in the garage a while ago, Two tins of WD40 on the shelf minus the tubes again I got some packs of salmon fillets off the reduced shelf t'other week from ASDA &* put em in the freezer. Made some fishcakes with em for tea tonight & going to do a few crinkle cut chips

I'm done for the day, all taps etc under the sink had a liberal scoot of WD40. New machine coming between 9 & 11 tomorrow so I'll haul the machine out first thing, can't be ar5ed now. Just need to pull it out, disconnect the water feed, pull the cable and drain hose through from the cupboard under the sink. Floor cleaned as well so she'll be happy.

Well Burger! The oncologist consultant at Christies hospital rang me up at teatime for a chat & change my appointments, I was supposed to start the radio therapy treatment starting on the 2nd November at Oldham but they say they want the results of an MRI scan which I'm doing tomorrow at Bolton & another bladder scan flow test doing before I can start the radio therapy treatment so it's been pushed back to the new year Which is a bit worrying as I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in July
She said the radio therapy external beam scanner at Salford Christies will be operational by then so I won't need to go to Oldham.

I know how you feel Ian. It took me a very long time to get the docs to recognise I had a big problem with my energy levels, I knew myself what the reason behind it was. Finally got an appointment with the endocrine dept, saw the specialist, yes, we'll start the treatment . . . . after an ultrasound, had to jump through more flamin' hoops. I eventually get the hormone treatment prescribed but had to wait for the manufacturer making a batch and I'm still waiting for it to slowly filter its way through the supply chain
In case Ging nipped my head when she gets home I thought I'd better have a look at renewing my passport. Surprising quick, rattled through it in minutes. Just need to send the old passport to them. |

Yeah I know what you mean Steve, it doesn't seem to be moving along fast enough, Reading between the lines I don't think they're happy with my waterworks as she said the radio treatment will make peeing slightly worse than it already is & that's why they want another bladder scan & flow test.

If you have any savings put by, you might want to consider going self funding and private so you don’t have to wait until the new year to start treatment. I googled Christie’s and they have a private patients department. The money is reinvested back into Christie’s NHS. https://www.hcahealthcare.co.uk/faci...e-private-care With the private appointment there is no cancellation or delay. I had to go private to have the aneurysm repaired and to have the heart scanned etc pre-op. The first outpatient appointment to see the cardiologist was £130 for a face to face appointment at a hospital in London, not a fortune in the scheme of things. From there everything happened fast. Clearly your treatment will be reassessed on your scans today and what is seen. A stressful and worrying time for you, Jessica and I will be thinking of you. |

Thanks for that information Phil , Savings are very low at the moment so I'll just have to grin & bear it. Yes reading between the lines they aren't happy with my waterworks as she said the radio therapy treatment will make peeing more difficult & you might get constipation also through the process, She also told me about the micro-enemas I have to give myself before each radio therapy session too, She said it might come to surgery to remove it. The joys of getting old eh!.
