Well the snow melt a little bit this afternoon, but only a little bit.The houses roofs are still covered in snow and so are the paths . I had a bag of grit in the back garden and I spread some up the drive and on the path at the top of the drive, so provide there’s no more snow, my daughter can get off on the roads providing there’s no snow tonight.

Sorry Andy, I can’t identify the little birdies,
Look at the right of the feeder and second pic on the bottom of the feeder, you will see them there.

Thank you Richard, you are always helpful and considerate to others, thank you again

Its great to see you have pulled yourself from a couple of days ago and you are keeping yourself busy preparing for the icy snow and bad weather.

Today we went out for a long drive to top up the battery as our loan car is getting on a bit. After turning the ignition key it starts every time. Tomorrow we are returning the car and don’t want any starting problems although I have to say we have not had any problems with the car starting or running it.

Fortunately no snow here but it is very cold and frosty.

Do take care

I got up at 6am this morning to check that the car was frost free before our weekly shopping trip. Result? No frost at 6am, just wet. Went out at 7.30 and it was covered in about 1/4" of solid ice!!! Grrrrrr! Luckily, the door had not fully frozen, so I could get in and start up to clear the ice (after checking that the wipers were off!). Weird weather.

This afternoon, whilst waiting for the kettle to boil, I literally watched my neighbour's windscreen freeze over within about two minutes. When I went to clear up after the cuppa, the screen was clear again!

Stay warm folks.

Both Great T1ts by the look of it. Can't spell T1ts properly, with an "i", because the draconian swear filter goes apoplectic!

Annoyed at the Kestrel that's started lurking around here, wee birds are wary of coming to the feeders.

Evening all, Brr! Rod would be having a dicky fit if he could see the numbers twirling round on this smart meter tablet with the heating on full blast, I've bunged it in the drawer then I don't have to look at it.

Roast chicken thighs & stir fry veggies for tea tonight.
Daughter came home half an hour ago & already the windscreen frozen over.

Hi Phil, yes they are as Steve says, Great t1ts. We have all sorts of birds on the feeders including blackbirds and woodpeckers but, of course, as soon as I got the camera out most of them cleared off .

Cold here but no snow although, having said that, the frost is really thick. Oddly, Bertie loved to just lie in it.

Keep wrapped up and warm.

We have the feeders on a squirrel proof pole. We get a woodpecker, it makes me laugh, why get a migraine head butting a tree when there's free food here This time of year get a lot of blackbirds after the seeds the small birds drop. Always have to keep an eye out for magpies attacking the suet balls and the bleedin' kestrel that's started hanging around.

Morning all from another frosty morning in the Midlands.

Steve - do you get the woodpeckers "suggesting" to other birds that they clear off by way of a peck? They're really pretty intimidating or perhaps that's just nature's way and hierarchy?

The blackbirds have learnt to hang on to the feeders as have starlings, thrushes and even the odd pigeon has a go .

It's Quizzie that likes to pick up any feed that's fallen on the floor, although our feisty Robin isn't usually far away .

Take care everyone
