Good morning Steve, that’s excellent news, your persistence paid off.

What’s the latest about Maya?

Good morning all,

Thank you Jeff for the cat photos, beautifully done - you never disappoint

Yesterday it was a visit to the chiropodist and today it’s a visit to the skin cancer clinic to have some pre-cancerous lesions burnt off from the top of my head.

Even though I wear a hat and put on sun screen, getting skin cancer is unfortunately not uncommon and it’s one of the risks of living near the equator …….So far I have been lucky not to get it.

The mouth is still sore from the extensive dentistry last week, hopefully it will settle down soon.

Thursday we are holding a garden party

Friday, I am taking the gardener to a clinic for people who suffer from Epilepsy.

Yesterday he had a major seizure in the garden, biting his tongue - there was blood everywhere.

Where he fell, he cut his face and afterwards he was disoriented and irritable, so I will be asking the doctors to reassess the management of his condition and his medication etc,

Recently the frequency of his seizures have been increasing and hopefully with specialist help, he can have much better control of them.

What’s everyone up to?

Morning all.

Goodness me you're a busy boy, Phil. How do you find the time to fit it all in .

All white with frost here in the Midlands.

Bird feeders are empty so that's an urgent job to be done.

Sadly missed the Nano social last night as I was on shift but getting ready to go to the first "hands on" Nano of the year this weekend.

Take care everyone.

Ours are emptied most days by a family of squirrels which live in the woods at the end of our garden, they seem to like and steal the fat balls and suet blocks, when they have ate them they then gobble up all the bird seed as well.

In her younger days Georgie used to chase them away, but they seem to know she is no longer here,

Ah, the squirrel issue. .

Do dogs have some in built dislike of squirrels? Quizzie certainly doesn't like them one bit. Expect to have your shoulder put out if she's on lead and spots one . And as for the ones that get onto the feeders in HER garden......

Something that has worked to some extent is putting the very hottest of super hot chilli powder onto (or into) the bird food. Doesn't do anything to the birds at all but, being mammals, squirrels react the same way we do. Makes the "food" unpalatable and they leave it alone.

Good luck.
