The pleasures of living on the coast. It does have its upsides as well though

Morris is on the back of the sofa in the lounge. The radiator is behind the sofa so he is keeping nice and toasty this morning

Good morning all

I am sorry to hear about the freezing temperatures. Wrap up well and look out for the ones you love.

On Saturday I visited the cardiologist who said my blood pressure and heart tests were all okay, except for the fasting triglycerides bloods which were high, so will be repeated. Apart from that he is happy with my progress and said I was doing well. I was eating better and had put on 3kg.

On Friday, a nephew and his fiancé have booked us into a hotel at the coast for 4 nights - a pre wedding party for us and guests from the UK to meet up and have fun. The hotel has been block booked for the week.

They have booked us a room overlooking the ocean, how really very kind and generous of them to think of us like that.

The weather is expected to be hot and humid at 35C daytime with a sea temperature of 28.6-29C. Looking forward to swimming and snorkelling in warm waters, R&R. We will fly back to Nairobi on the 4 April in time for the nephew’s wedding on the 8 April.

So on Friday we are flying to the coast, our first holiday in over a year. We have been busy packing and getting ready for the trip. For airplane enthusiasts we will be flying in a Bombadier Dash 8 Q400

Wednesday this week, it’s back to the skin clinic to remove the stitches from my shoulder.

Every week for the past few weeks, I have been sending my nephew and his fiancé a text message, one a week: some marital tips

1. Don’t criticise your wife’s judgment, look who she married

2. A little deafness helps

3. She is always right

Any more?

Morning all, a chilly start to the day down here, using the 75 for work as I'm awaiting service parts for the freelander, made sense to give it a service once the timing belt had been done.

Mystery solved. The clock radio had lost a day somewhere, showing the 26th instead of the 27th, explains why it advanced an hour into BST last night not Saturday night.

And then I'll hold you in my dreams
