Had to be a TSW3 train driving day with the showers & cold wind. Dahn Sarf again in Southall yard driving a BR class 08 to rescue a BR Class 52 that's broken down. It's even raining in me scenarios
Chicken casserole for tea tonight.

Morning, first in! Ging is dayshift so up at five, didn't bother going back to bed, never get back into a proper sleep anyway. Cold and breezy here, rain supposed to appear later.
Going any distance in an 08 is like a punishment! Furthest we took them was between my depot and Haymarket at the other side of Edinburgh, running through Niddrie which was run down bandit country at the time, nice slow moving target (15mph max speed) for the little stone throwing b*****ds |

Morning all, Grey skies & raining here but at least that north easterly wind has abated
Looks like a shopping day today judging by the lack of nosh in the fridge, I had a beefburger for brekkie & I reckon I'll be eating that for the rest of the day Quote:
Yeah you're right I think this is the first scenario a gronk has been out of shunting duties in yards. I got the luxury of 20mph but the breakdown was only four miles away. It's one reason I don't usually bother with the heritage track games in the UK (25mph limit) or the massive BNSF CSX locos in the states as you're limited to crawling speeds.

Morning everyone
We have the rain, had it since yesterday afternoon. And it’s turned a tad chilly.

Warm and improving in eastern Norfolk. Done my cleaning duties, so a cuppa and a biccie are due soon! My neighbour's Mazda is up in the air with its legs akimbo, so either it's giving birth, or it's bruk! It's the first time that I've seen it ailing in around five years, so not so bad.
Managed a faultless, very slow, guitar version of duelling banjos last night, so shall be working on my pace for my own "marathon" of the full speed version. This vid was very helpful but maybe not accurate for the "purists"! Keep on trucking!

Back when the Waverley line was still open there was an 08 based I think at Hawick that came up to Edinburgh for servicing then back down every weekend. I think it came up on the Saturday and went back down on the Sunday, the thought of doing 50+ miles at 15mph in an 08 . . . . personally I would have dreaded landing that turn.

We had rain through the night, it’s quite cold this morning and sky looks like waiting for more rain.

Had to nip out for some odds and ends, there's a bitterly cold breeze from the north east.

ASDA shopping done & haircut by the bevy of Polish hairdressers in there Those mouse traps arrived in the post today, The varmints are gnawing through my stuff in the garage like crazy, Already had to put the birdseed & suet balls in strong sealed plastic containers as they've chewed through shopping bags & boxes spilling it all over the floor
The one cat of ours that goes out catches them every now & then but judging from the droppings there are many more in there. Going to load them up with peanut butter tonight & keep Tansy out of there for a while. Already snapped a ballpoint pen trying them out .
