Cool

Evening all.

Been a very productive day. Sorted through the car spares in the garage and chucked a load of old rusty, rotten and collapsed hoses. Had to put seat’s down in the Fiesta to get it all in. Found more old wood so chucked that as well. Going to finish off tomorrow.

Steak, broccoli and roast taters for tea. A glass or two of wine to wash it all down.

Good morning all - you lead such busy and full lives

Good morning Richard and thank you for your good wishes.

Yes, do keep building up the strength in your legs when ever you can and practice improving your reflex and coordination skills, everything you do is special and really matters.

So yesterday I had a post operation check up. The new aorta is still working well 6 months on, but I had to go back on the Paracetamol and Codeine tablets as I had been off them completely for the past 2 weeks. The pain from the op without any pain medication was still too much to bear.

The doc told me after the next leg op is done and I have recovered, I will need another operation to treat a large hiatus hernia. The operation will make the stomach smaller and the gastric reflux will stop, although the op doesn’t stop stomach acid being produced, the symptoms will be less and a lot easier to live with.

But weight loss is an after effect from the operation until the stomach and small intestines gets used to smaller amounts of food going through.

I can think of a number of younger members in the club who would benefit from having their stomachs made smaller. The size of themselves must be very uncomfortable and a strain on everything.

In the meantime the doc has doubled up the anti-acid medication, as I had been getting more acid. He gave the name of a Gastric surgeon who is the best in performing the operation.

Apart from that, he said my blood pressure was excellent and I looked very well which was reassuring to hear. He said I am not to do any more lifting and leave the physical work on the farm to someone else.

The weather here is improving over the next week with more sunny days and not so cold.

It’s not long now before we fly to the UK, just 5 weeks away

Do take care and keep strong

Cool

Morning everyone from overcast Cornwall.

Going to get the last of the garage cleared today. There’s boxes up in the rafters that need getting down and sorted out.

That’s a bit of a problem Phil, with having to take tablets again, hope things don’t stay you and you keep getting better all the time.

Do I fall into the "Younger Members"section Phil?
