Good morning everyone and welcome to the many guests visiting.

Yesterday we did not venture out and so had a day off from going out. I have now been off the strong pain killers for 36 hours as I am keen to start driving again. Next week the hospital bed, Zimmer frame, raised toilet seat and hospital crutches are being collected as I no longer need them. I still get the post op pain but it’s something which will eventually go I am sure.

It’s blue skies here, no rain so we are off out shortly for a walk in the park.

What are people thinking of doing for Christmas?

Afternoon. Dry here . . . . dry as in not raining but everything is still wet, bleedin' cold as well. Had to go out for some odds and sods and summat for dinner, couple of packs of pork belly strips for Shanghai braised pork.

As for Christmas Phil, not a clue, Ging will more than likely be working.

Are you back home for Christmas Phil?,

I see you missed the visit to Kenya by King Charles.

Horrible cold rainy day here with heavy showers rolling through every 15 minutes, Even the one cat that goes out wont go out & she's usually chomping at the bit to go out for half an hour. Fresh bread making day today it smells bootiful in here
I'll be doing the usual for Christmas.... Nowt

Suzy is like that. Goes to the door, "let me out dad, dad open the door dad". Open the door and she sees its peeing down, she'll stand and look for a few seconds . . . ."I'm not going out in that, I'll just cross my legs!" Pops isn't keen on the rain either, she'll dive out, pee and come hurtling back in, Maya doesn't give a toss, silly bugr will just potter around the garden no matter how heavy the rain is.

Thank you Steve, I thought the Kenyans did rather well in welcoming the King and his Consort Camilla. When he was at the coast it would have been 33C, he wore a lightweight suit in accordance with keeping to the dress code expected of him, but the heat must have been unbearable.

Several years ago I met the current President of Kenya at a funeral before he became famous. He introduced himself to me “I am William Ruto”, I said “I am Philip Gate Keeper” and it was all very pleasant.

Christmas: We are in the UK for Christmas and New Year visiting family. I have booked to fly to Nairobi on 8 January, then in March/April all being well, we are planning on visiting the family farm in South Africa. Looking forward to the warmer climate.

It’s going to be sad for you Steve remembering Georgie and the ones no longer with us, but I am sure they would not want you to be miserable but to celebrate their memories over the festive season with good food and good company.

Tuners arrived from Geordieland this morning. England 1 China 0.

Had to drill out the headstock, from 8 to 10mm, then a straightforward swap. Much better quality pegs and sooooo smooth! Ezy Loc fastening too, so less slipping. Also ordered some roller string trees, rather than the originals which are flimsy and have sharp edges (ie useless). Bridge still in China at the shippers!(not moved since Wednesday morning)
Gotta have a little "Patience"!

Best service I ever had was from Jim Dunlop, guitar parts manufacturer based in California. I had a Strat fitted with Dunlop straplocks, got a second guitar and wondered if it was possible to buy the guitar part of the straplocks without the fitting that went on the strap. Couldn't find anything online so emailed Dunlop's HQ. They asked for a mailing address and actually sent me the body fitting FOC!

I was in the same situation a while later and again contacted Dunlop, this time insisting I wanted to BUY the body fittings . . . . nope, not having it, they sent them FOC again.
