Trying hard to snow here, fine powdery stuff mixed with sleet. Bit of a bugr as I need it to be dry, have a job to do. Ging bought a Christmas tree last year, its never been out of the box . . . . until yesterday. Discovered the part that fits in the base is bent, bent to the extent that the tube is creased.

Whatever happened happened before the thing was packed, no damage to the box at all, doesn't say much for quality control! Never going to straighten, won't get that crease out, all I can do is cut it above the damage. Whatever I do, attempt to straighten or cut, I need to do outside but not in sleety snow

Afternoon all.

Lovely sunny winters day out there.
I'm off to Gatwick Airport in about half an hour.

Hope the trip is a little less eventful than a fortnight ago.

Catch you all later.

Had a go at straightening the tube, nah . . . . not happening so cut it above the damage. Tree is covered with . . . . something White fluffy stuff supposed to represent snow, its a pain, comes off in clouds.

Now that's done need to see about filling the bird feeders, being nagged by birds tapping on the window.

Hope it's a better journey Jeff, Bootiful MGB

That's a begger about the bent pole Steve, I've just noticed two of our bird feeders are getting low on seed, Nice to see a robin on them. I'm awaiting orders to get our Xmas tree out from somewhere, I hope it's not in the attic, I cant pull meself up there anymore

I made a spiced fruit loaf & it smells bootiful in the kitchen Just waiting for it to cool down then I can try a slice.

Quite heavy snow shower going on, the fine hail like stuff. Ground is wet so shouldn't lie.

That fruit loaf looks delicious as always Ian.
I’m in the Arrivals terminal as we speak.
Apart from the low sun making driving awkward it was a nice one hour and fifty minutes to get here.
The plane has landed a few minutes early as well.
Just waiting for him to claim his bags and we can set off home .
