It's looking ominous, It's gone black as night all of a sudden but no rain was forecast.

I was going to drive some trains but the core game in all of the TSW's are being updated & the first of four hasn't finished yet after over an hour.

Yes I'm missing the hour .

And yes, I too wonder if the likes of Derek and many, many others on this and similar forums shall still be around in future times. Which, IMHO, is very sad.

Anyway, for those that like photos see if you can find Quizzie on Trebor's photos from the Midlands Nano yesterday

https://www.midlandsnanomeets.co.uk/...hp?f=230&t=732

Take care.

Andy.
Thanks for the pics. Takes me back to my Rover tinkering. My knees are aching at the thought!

Morning all.

I've often said that when I grow up I'm going to be a weather forecaster - 'cus then I can get it completely wrong on a daily basis and not get sacked .

Last night's forecast was chucking it down.....

And this morning we have - bright, dry and quite warm.

Thanks for the comments on the beautiful (and she knows it ) Quizzie and the memories of aching because of working on cars .

Enjoy yourselves, whatever you're up to.

Andy.

Have gas in eye so can't fly for 3 months. After that, will see.
Cheers to you both.

Good morning Jennifer and thank you for those memories.

Jessica recalls from her childhood her parents taking her on a Union Castle ship Mombasa to Cape Town. She also had to fly there on her own from Nairobi to Cape Town as that was where she was boarded. She had to learn the Afrikaner language for her metric. She has kept in touch with her school friends and that’s how we are going to a school reunion in Cape Town in September.

I completely understand about you having to be careful with flying and also with altitude pressure. I am hoping healing continues and you are restored to full sight again.

A few nice photos of Quizzie looking attentive at the Nano. Thank you Andy for the update and for taking the time in posting up the link.

Also heavy rains here in Kenya. I have been going around lubricating everything just in case something jams up.

Derek was a true gent for sure.

I do wonder sometimes if in future such people will exist as those younger than me now get to retirement and beyond.
Ian, my apologies for missing you at the meets in Norfolk. How time flies and how lucky we are to be of retirement age. Just before Christmas, I was a patient in Coronary Care and remember being approached by 3 young doctors who told me because my heart was running in the low 30’s with heart block, I would need a pacemaker. They looked so young as though they came straight from Uni.

Overnight my heart rate suddenly improved and the next day the same doctors went on strike. That day, I was visited by a Consultant Cardiologist NHS who told me I didn’t need any pacemaker and I could be discharged as my bed was needed. He was my age and still working. He had the experience and knowledge and status to over rule the young doctors. He was annoyed by the junior doctors going on strike. He said I can do their job, but they can’t do mine.

Hopefully you will be able to enjoy a healthy and happy retirement. Thank you for those thoughtful words about Derek, how really very kind.

Afternoon. Wet here, annoying wet, light rain blowing in the breeze. Got the new outside light a few days ago but it hasn't been dry enough to fit it.

We've just got back in from the "raining all day" forecast.....

Well, it did for a short while

The light rain blowing in the wind has developed into proper rain.
