When my engine went the light did not come on,there was an instant loss of power followed by a noise that only a dry crankshaft can make.
I'm still at a loss as to where the oil went as there is/ was no evidence of a leak,so unless the oil pump failed I can only assume that there wasn't enough oil in the sump. I removed the sump wondering if the sump strainer was blocked but no, it was as clean as a whistle. As well as the coolant I now check my oil daily, an expensive and hard lesson learned. I have heard people on here say they are going to run there engines with slightly less than the recommended amount, all I have to say to that is, good luck. |
