Many thanks Ken, no I haven't because I didn't know if this would corrupt the thing so I decided not to. I will give it a try and see. When the card is in the left card slot the system doesn't see it so if it is safe then I will try it in the right. What could possibly go wrong he asks lol
Regards Peter

No harm will come to the unit although I suspect there is nothing wrong with the card.
If you mount/un-mount a card in either card slot the unit should detect it and say something along the lines of SD card unexpectedly removed .
As your unit is not saying that it would appear the unit is not registering an inserted card.

Try what Ken has said, it won't run the software but if you go into the file app you can check that the card still has content on it.

If that's the case and you have already reset the unit I would suggest going into the settings/general and then factory restore and try that.

Once that is done you will need to re install the navigation (presuming it is now functioning) and also re set a few other things such as radio settings and boot logo following these links here.

Installing navigation:

http://youtu.be/JDHSBpssn7E

Setting radio region:

http://youtu.be/gtWjb1rDAH8

Setting boot logo:

http://youtu.be/GvlAW1kBj-k

Setting steering wheel controls:

http://youtu.be/L8x0okuvq3A

If this doesn't work you may need to reinstall the firmware.
You will need to contact Sean who will supply and talk you through this .

Hope that helps,

......But have you put the card in the right hand slot as Ken suggested and gone to the file app to see if the card has anything on it yet ?

Hi Peter,
My next suggestion would be to take the card and try and read from a computer, that would certainly "make sure" the card has somehow been wiped or corrupted.
Please bear in mind I`m just an Nav user and offering ideas that I would try myself if this was happening to me.
Ken.

Hi Ken, many thanks for your continued consideration on this. I did insert the card in my laptop and, nothing. I tried a couple of cards I use for my camera and they registered content fine. My initial thought was that it was incompatible and that's why my laptop didn't recognise it, but at the very least I would have expected the computer to give me some kind of message but it didn't. I will try that again later as I have just finished installing some computer management software and will comment back later.
Many thanks Peter
