ah yes... security... windows firewall.
That's the first thing turned off, second is windows updates (until I get a look and see what ones I think I need as opposed to what they think I need) I have had quite a few machines in for repair and when i ask what the last thing they did before it went off, most of them say "oh that windows update thing" also people who continue to install and use p2p programs like limeware and bearshare despite me telling them not to, and then we have the ones who turn off zonealarm as it was "annoying" them. its lunch time, otherwise you would have suffered another 2 or 3 paragraphs

Still unable to access the forum from the main home page.
TBH my problems have only started since the main page was changed to promote the latest meet up and the falling snowflakes. |

The snowflakes are a Javascript routine and sometimes browers don't like Javascript. It's very particular sometimes. Unfortunately, disabling Javascript means the menu's wont work either... |

Shouldn't be a problem - as the 'snowflakes' use javascript which is used for the menus since day 1 - so there should be no problem - PM me and I will send you a link to try to see if it works another way
Cheers

PS: if you wish to send me a more detailed breakdown of the problem (a screen shot would be helpful) I'd be happy to take a closer look ...

Now the Full Version of IE7 is in use and on automatic download, I have no problems at all on any part of this or .org but make sure your not using any of the Betas. Feedback from most of our clients is good and they prefer the "extras" over IE6.

My updates are installing at the minute, and i feel a reboot coming on but yes, I think they have managed to iron out the bugs. But after all its is Microsoft
yep.. halfway through the updates and i have to reboot to continue you would wonder if some muppet over in MS land could not devise a system where it would install ALL the updates BEFORE rebooting? edit: nah.. only 3 of the buttons worked for me this time, and then it stopped working. It does not matter as I use firefox most of the time anyway, but I can see it could annoy some people in a work setting, or those with no control over their browsers
