I've got private plate on my ZT cdti JP52 JEF. I've had the plate since 2003 and it's now been on 4 cars. It's my initials and name
Also have a private plate on my ZT260 MG04 JEF and bought that in 2015 just after I bought the car. Its the make of car, year and name

My Beemer has R66 BDB (my year of birth and initials)
I bought T66 BDB when I got the 75 last month (now on it) and I also picked up N66 BDB for my motor home at the same time. Will have to wait until I tax it in April before I transfer it over. Lastly, in 2016 I bought BB66 BDB which has been on retention ever since until I can afford a late 2016 (or newer) car. First three each cost 250 quid Inc first transfer fee. The 2016 one was 495 quid Inc. |

In short, you must have more money than sense. Everyone to their own vices.

I bought WHI6TON to go with my steam engine called WHISTON and so pretty close. Trouble is I cannot afford a 16 or newer plate car so my 05 ZT keeps soldiering on. Perhaps when I retire?

Looks dear to me... when I was thrashing my M3 round the Cotswolds, I heard some posh guy complain about "NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- oyks in BMWs", so I got M3 OYK from the DVLA for (I think) £150. Only personal plate I've ever had.
Personally I wouldn't spend more, but at the end of the day, it's nobody's business but yours Sadly missed

When I was buying my V8 in 2005 I was informed I could get MU55 ANG from the DVLA, but when I inquired it had gone. Then someone called me and said I could have it for £1k. No idea how they knew I was looking. I called the number and that fellow said the actual price was £3,500 so I passed. Recently I enquired about that number and was quoted £50k, so some numbers do very well indeed
I think if sellers know you're keen, they'll try it on. I managed to recently find MG53 ANG for £350 and settled for that on the 260 (original reg. was SN55 JPJ). I swapped LX55 DXT on the ZTT 190 for MY05 ZTT ( many thanks to mininuts for that one ). Beware the rush of blood, and do negotiate Last edited by edwardmk; 1st February 2022 at 20:50.. I wasn't prepared to pay more than the DVLA's £250 all in. I got R9 UER for that.
I can understand car-related plates being pricier than actual personalised numbers.
