Hi both Steve's.
I have spoken with Sean about this and the answer it seems is no I'm afraid.
It's not just a skin, it runs on wince6 not 5 and the board and other electronics inside the unit have been changed as well.
Time for an upgrade boys

Hi Cliff,

Nope, I'm afraid not its the same as before.
I tend to use an sd card for music playback more so than the iPod connection to be honest

I can confirm the android unit remembers the song, and the position I think too! I'll check if you wish?

Well at least the D99 does, not sure about the older version as I can't remember from the last one I had on the bench!

Thanks - useful to know. I thought the sound from Dereks unit (Wind rush) was much improved over mine, though he does have the Harmon Kardon speakers, so how much was due to the unit and how much down to his speakers I don't know. Did you notice any sound improvement when you upgraded?
