This gets more weird by the minute.
I have the facelift dials but with both Speedo and Rev counter matching oval shape with White light showing up the light brown section.
All the Mileage etc is in Orange, the upper display on Hi Line Colour depends on Message etc. (red, orange, white and Cream/yellow)

I've seen lots of 75's, but I have never noticed the new dials at all!
Strange!!!!

They are both Oval Andy!! It was just the camera angle I took it at.
Here's another angle:

Right Jules, that is bad news, so will be over this week without fail, will ring before coming over.

At least I have a old 620SLDi for shopping and running around local now, saves me 75 getting damaged any more I hope. The Auto box makes you Lazy, have to change gear in the 620!

Yes it's a shame Rover never did the 600 diesel with Auto.
My old man would have had one, until the 75 Auto CDT came out.

This is interesting! I've never really liked the new style dials, but then again, I've never really studied them in detail.

Having looked at the pictures posted here, I must confess they do have a really nice art deco feel to them - the font in particular. THey look as if they come straight from an episode of Poirot!

I still prefer the old style, but the face lift ones are not the abomination I thought they were, and must be the second best dials available in any car(That CDTi is looking more attractive by the second)!

I love my facelift dials like you say they are very Art Deco (and I'm a fan of all things Art Deco...). Looking at the original style dials they look a bit too fussy for me, bu then again I like my Light Oak too....
