My late father landed on the beaches on D-day, he survived with no injuries, other than the mental one's.
My late Father in law was at Monte Cassino, he too survived. So tomorrow at 11am I'll be paying my respects as I do every year.

I will be at the shop tomorrow and I too hope to be able to respect the two minutes silence and that any customers we have in do the same.
It really is a small sacrifice in ones day to make compared to the sacrifices of those we fall silent for

A thought provoking subject indeed.
Earlier this year, Chris and I took our children on a tour of the battlefields of West Flanders, and Ypres. On the way, we also visited Dunkirk. It is almost impossible to comprehend the hardship, and sacrifice these brave souls made. I will be observing as I have done all of my life, two minutes silence in honour of our fallen heroes who have in the name of freedom, made the ultimate sacrifice Brian |

Sitting in the departure lounge at Malta airport on Sunday I was looking at my watch for eleven o-clock, then when it came I thought it strange there was no minutes silence.
Then it occurred it was only the 9th on Sunday, but I still gave a thought for all those who gave up their lives. I will never forget the entire NEC fell silent on the 11th during the Classic Motor Show when I attended in 2010. |
