Yes it can be shaped by bending it, never had a problem since I worked out how to shape it.....lol

so which side of the master cylinder do you start from - nearer the centre of the car?

Center, tried wing side but it seemed too tight to work the cable round the bend. Used a torch too as even in daylight it can be pretty dark under the cylinder itself.

How does one push a rod through a hole you can't see? After climbing on top of the engine, I'm blowed if I could see anything drain-like around the servo area. Has anyone got a photo of this elusive brake servo drain?

I'm with you T-Cut, I can only see the one inside the plenum area. It's free-flowing now mind you. I cannot set my eye on any other drain within that area.
