Typhoon - I'm curious about this pic:

Your lower arms have no bushes - did you press them out and if so are you putting the old ones back in or going for polyurethane?

I pressed in BMW bushes, which are 10.0mm shorter, but had 5.0mm spacers turned up to go either side.

The old one is offset as I didn't have the right tool to press it out with at the start.

That sounds like a good option, do you have the part number for the Beemer bushes? If needed I can get a friend of mine to sort out the spaces.

Interesting threads appearing about our rear ends !!
It's increasingly looking like a case of not if but when the rear sub-frame suspension components will suffer corrosion
I have a rear sub-frame assembly being shot blasted at the moment that will be rebuilt with new arms etc ready to be fitted to Redfive as and when, the plan is to coat all parts with http://www.zinga-uk.com/zinga followed by a top coat of
http://www.johnstonestrade.com/produ...sed-gloss.aspx in a suitable colour in an attempt to stop the tin worm returning.
Just a thought on the use of BMW bushes on the lower arms would it be possible to use nylon spacers or would they need to be metal?
Cheers Ian

Nylon might be an alternative, on the one side you don't have to worry about corrosion but on the other you need to consider the clamp forces and whether they would cause heat and breakup in use. Something I will have a look at later when I start to dry fit the cleaned components.

I've offered my ZT stuff to Dale to do exactly that, he can get stuff done and ready, then he can move his on and we all win.

Oh well, every day's a school day.
I suppose you could refurbish it and sell it on, bit of practise for the correct one when you pick one up

I didn't spot this bit in your last post Ian, glad you mentioned it though. I'm looking to get the parts put in a dip to get at all the corrosion inside the box sections and clear it out, then get it all hot dip galvanised. Having read through the Zinga info that looks a good alternative to get everything dipped in that stuff instead.
