Keep an eye out for the Samsung i8510. Nice phone with 8Mp camera/GPS/8Gb blah blah. If you have used Symbian and Series 60 then this will be second nature to you.

Be interesting to see the results with the 8mp camera. I have the 5mp samsung camera and the quality is pants. They should invest in better glass than the pixels.

Sensor is more important than the glass.
I'll drop some samples up when the weather improves. |

Mines always looked like it has been taken through dirty glass, even when it was new and after being cleaned. Thought the glass would have been responsible. Look forward to your samples.

Well a dirty lens is not gonna make a good picture, but in terms of picture quality the sensor is more important in camera phones. At the moment sensors are small (due to everyone wanting small phones, and hence poorer quality. If sensors could be made bigger and still fit into a phone then quality would improve.
On a seperate note, very very few camera phones actually use glass at all |

The quality Lens Optics of Zeiss Ikon are used on some Nokia Phones.

Yet Nokia got NO such publicity when they had similar problems with the N95 when it was released. Actually I know people in the know and at adobe they are working on flash for iPhone, and Java? yes that works right now... Having used an iPhone 3g on test I love it and will be buying one soon enough. People are quick to sue/slander Apple because they are Apple. Oh yes and people should guess that Microsoft exchange features will ONLY work with exchange email systems... Are people that stupid? |
