My Mk2 sat nav has difficulty when TMC is operated, keeps freezing, read up on it on here and it is quite common for this to happen, Min Mk3 unit me thinks

Does anydody have a disc to change the splash screen of a Mk3 unit, I have read the threads when you google it and on the x5 forum but being a pc dunce cannot see me doing that. Willing to buy disc with no responsibility for seller should I turn my mk3 into a brick.

I think that is correct Mike, Mine is a Mk 2, however I have an option on a Mk3 out of a mini, split screen enabled and supporting TMC trouble is it currently has the mini splash screen Its 3-1/63 running ver 22 software. ( think that was the last available for MK3) Read all the stuff on the forum, may as well be in arabic to me.

I have the Mk 3 unit as shown here. I've got a recent VDO Dayton disc which apparently allows for post code input, but I can't seem to see how to do this! Is there a hidden screen or something? |

Just try inputting Postcode as first location and it should search from that.

Non Postcode discs won't offer you the option to input numbers. Also, you can input a street name without first having to type a town / city Very useful when you know the name of a street but it doesn't show up as an option from the town/city you have entered - (some streets are filed under adjacent towns on the CD's database) simply select "SPACE" and push enter, an * (asterisk) will appear in the town/city box, then push enter again on the Sat Nav, which will then drop you down to the Street box, and away you go. Hope this helps
