Thanks to all who replied especially Brian who gave me some good pointers. A couple of things which I did not realise with this car.
Firstly the EP basicly shows there is no communications in the system - so the error codes etc cannot be read or reset, and certainly the car will not start in this condition - I certainly tried that!. I removed the ECU again and this time stripped it down, the print all looked in good condition, however there was a small tell-tale line of condensation on a part of the ali casing. I saturated it all in IPA solvent, brushed it well in everywhere and dried it with a low heat hairdryer. Plugged it back in and RESULT!!. Think I got to it before any damaged was done. Thanks for the suggestions from all - especially Brian for his understanding of the problem from the word go. Tony. |
