Very glad to hear that you are ok. Cars can be replaced, people can't

Glad to hear that you're OK. Take time to be a bit steady and look after yourself.
Cars can be replaced but it's always sad to lose a good friend. Take care. |

Thank you so much for all your kind comments and wishes, its means a great deal!
I've arranged to see the car tomorrow and collect my belongings. I think it will be somewhat of a shock to see it in the light of day but good to have a little closure. It all feels somewhat abstract at the moment! |

Glad you are OK. When things calm down I hope you find another 75. I know you will have insurance and other things to deal with. A few years back I had a glancing hit with a deer in Sussex. Afterwoods I reflected back on it and had the deer gone in front of the car I could have been killed. A few months later a work colleague ended up in intensive care after a direct hit with a deer. These things shake you up and through no fault of your own your life is on the line. Take care and so glad you are OK.i

Great you walked away.
Just goes to show how well engineered the 75/ZT was for its time. If that had been a Metro, it would of been a very different story. |

Thank your lucky stars you walked away. Some cars are just better made then others. I understand the loss of losing your car.
We had a Toyota Carina E some years ago. My wife was hit head on at an estimated combined speed of 60 mph. Anything in front of the windscreen was damaged but the drivers cabin remained intact and she walked away. The other car, a Peugeot was falling part inside. Unfortunately the other driver survived. His fine for lying in court, TWOC and driving uninsured was less then our insurance premium. A complaint to the court got a reply that he was an upstanding citizen, I wrote back pointing out lying in court, TWOC and driving uninsured and they replied a poor choice of words on their part. Road Traffic Collisions show how good seat belts are. Why people want to drive without them is any bodies guess. Why parents let children ride in cars without wearing them is staggering. Reckless endangerment? macafee2 Last edited by macafee2; 16th January 2022 at 17:17.. Reason: corrected spelling of TWOC |

Glad to hear that you are ok but shame that another 75 ends its life prematurely. You didnt mention it but worth mentioning the benefits of using a dashcam, when idiots in front cause accidents, insurers often push the blame onto the innocent party, being behind. Hope you get your car replaced without too much hassle.
