I paid £36.00 for the genuine part last year,I don't compromise on this area.Cheaper pattern parts don't have a great service life.

The last line of the seller's description says SLP:

Edit: Just had a closer look and all of Rimmer's pumps are annotated SLP, even those that were sold as "Take Off" parts after being removed from unused factory engines. Click Maybe SLP (Service Line Part) is not a reliable thing to use to try to gauge a pump's quality.

Ratdogfink: What is the difference between the two thermostat fittings? I have a thermostat under the engine, should I have a thermostat at the pump or part 16?
Not sure what you mean by under the engine but there should only ever be one thermostat fitted. Part 16 should be fitted if your car has a PRT, which is item 17 in this link. Click A thermostat should only be fitted at the pump if your car does not have a PRT. Click

Ah miss selling at it's finest Title description says PEB102510, the picture employed in the listing is that of a proper pump.
The classic give away of a chatty pump, is the "o ring", on a decent quality pump, it is of "D" section, and is prefixed to the pump body.
Second is the quality of the casting, and impeller type.

Some owners who took delivery of the early K-engined cars complained of leaking pumps, Rover concluded that the problem was aesthetic as the seal is lubricated by coolant and some weepage is inevitable by design. However to solve the problem the design of the pump was changed to incorporate a chamber where the weepage evaporates in the heat of the engine. Click The chamber requires a special bolt. Click

I think the evaporator type was factory fitted to the Rover 75 but both types of pump are still sold and either type can be used providing you have the special bolt where needed.
