Paul - it should be here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

434Mb I think - downloads quite fast at night tho (23mins).

Thanks Simon

Getting it now.

I suspect that mine is going to be one of the computers it won't install on though, reading some of the comments from mystified, annoyed users on the 'net.

Most odd...mine was a 64mb download...
It has made the laptop a bit quicker I must say!

Don't you just love Micro$oft?

"This update is not compatible with a 64 bit operating system"

Oddly enough, I never saw that mentioned on the download page.

No sign of a 64-bit update anywhere either.

Only Micro$oft would have the brass cojones to make such a monumental mess up and expect to get away with it.

So 64 bit is so cutting edge they haven't even got around to (re)designing the service pack for it

If you read some of the blogs and fora regarding SP1 Carl you'd wonder how Micro$oft would cope if they were selling cars, or joints of beef.

It appears that they have a special department whose sole aim is to make everything the consumer tries to do as difficult and as expensive as possible.

Paul - SP1 should go straight in. It takes ages though with several restarts & green 'wait' screens. Allow a good hour or so.

No use if you're on 64bit though (not sure if you are or not).
