NO, it NEVER ends, it's like the game of "Yellow car" see reference to "Cabin Pressure", series 1 "Ottery St Mary's" on BBC i-player .

I wouldn't dream of it, I've spent my summer holidays there for the last 6 years...

When I was a good few years younger, I nearly drowned there!
Swam across the beach from clif to clif, I wasn't as good a swimmer as I thought....

Jesus mate....I remember wanting to take my boy fishing off the cliffs there one year and the lady in the tackle shop in Cardigan wiping the floor with me!....I hadnt realised that a few people had sadly died doing the same thing....

WRT the strange whirring; this is potentially a curve ball but does it go away if you turn your aircon to econ or off. One of my v6 was doing this; was the fan changing pitch slightly. Thought it might mean I needed to do some work on my air con but the noise went away when I got a new Shannon tube so I can only assume it was air being drawn into the engine passed the fan.

As I said probably a curve ball in this instance as yours is a diesel so the air comes in another way. Worth a check though as I read up on it on Jules shop site and it can be coming from an overworked aircon system with a front heat exchanger whose fins are collapsed or gone

If its the clutch release bearing, it will also make the noise if the clutch is pressed, with engine running, but car stationary.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Fortunately I sold the car this morning to a mechanic so I've only now got one 75 to worry about!
