Excellent response, loads of things to check.

Update for the noises after trying a few things

1. it's the window, it goes away if I drop it half an inch or press it outward to the frame while driving, will try vaseline first

2. will try the bcu first - I assume it's accessible once the glovebox is out??

3. got a bit louder driving tonight, it's a flapping sound and it's volume changes with the heater fan speed so I'm guessing it's the heater motor flaps. How do you get at these or should I just lube with spray? Also noticed with the heater set to hot I still get some cold air out of the footwell vents from the centre console.

Also I don't have a sunroof so I'll check the headlining tomorrow

Thanks all,

Gordon
P.S. plenum is clear

DONE: HAD A CRAZY IDEA THAT I HAD TO GET RID OF MY MG ZTT DUE TO NOT HAVING A DRIVE AND HAVING TO PARK ON A BUSY STREET WITH A VIEW TO GETTING ANOTHER ONE AT A LATER DATE WHEN I HAVE A DRIVE.

ENDED UP REALISING IT REALLY ISN'T PRACTICAL NOT HAVING A CAR TO GET AROUND AND I NOW OWN A VW EOS 3.2 V6 INDIVIDUAL (1 OF 20 REMAINING IN THE UK WITH THAT ENGINE AND TRIM COMBO) EVEN THOUGH I STILL LIVE ON A BUSY ROAD WITHOUT A DRIVE

Thread moved to a more appropriate forum. Re-direct left in old. This may be the better forum as things get 'buried' very quickly in the General Forum.

I have a problem with a noisy flap actuator. If I lubricate the linkage the sound goes away for a few months.

The one that rattles on mine is accessible with the glove box removed.

I think I will try the tip from vindaloo and spray some teflon up there and see if it helps.
